A22p
The A22p is a representative of the A-series, which was only produced for a short time (May 2000 - January 2004). The devices were designed as an inexpensive desktop replacement - similar to the G series, which was manufactured by Acer from April 2003 to December 2005 and was also discontinued.
The A22m and A22p have a floppy and optical drive in addition to the built-in hard drive. My model has the luxurious UXGA display with a resolution of up to 1600x1200 pixels - a very respectable value for the early/mid-2000s. Due to their age, the displays have a red cast colour image for a few seconds at cold start - but the effect disappears after a short time. Unfortunately, my model lacks built-in speakers. The device was apparently a spare parts donor for the previous owner. The LAN/modem PCI card on my model was also replaced by a Gigabyte GN-WI01HT WLAN card (Atheros) - I replaced this with a modem from an A22m I had lying around.
The A devices are now hard to come by, I spent some time looking for this model. It was a freebie as I also bought an A31p and 240 from the same seller.
