The 240 is a coveted device among enthusiasts. It is probably the smallest ThinkPad sold in Europe and is quite hard to come by. Due to its advanced age (the device was produced from June 1999 to February 2001), broken plastic brackets and damaged display cables are common.

I myself have been looking for the 240 for many years and fortunately found 2 models. The model shown here is in original condition, while the second has been upgraded with a WLAN card, which meant that the modem had to go. The damage to the display cable still needs to be repaired. The green channel is currently damaged, resulting in a strong blue tint to the image.

Due to the very compact design, the performance is limited. The 10.4" display has an impressive 800x600 pixels. The built-in USB 1.1 port is, as with some other older devices (such as the T23), not bootable.
