WorkPad 20X
The WorkPad 20X was introduced in March 1998 at an MSRP of 400 USD. As with the previous IBM WorkPad, it was simply a re-labeled Palm PDA with a different housing color and logo - in this case a Palm III. In contrast to the previous WorkPad, the memory can no longer be upgraded via modules.
It is the first Palm PDA with an infrared interface for data exchange. It also has a flashable ROM to enable operating system updates. The device was delivered with Palm OS 3.0, later updates brought the versions 3.5.3 and 4.1.
Palm OS 3 provides a new launcher and an additional font size. For photos, Kodak introduced the Palm Pix, a dockable camera. The screen now has an optional backlight.
