SL300
The SL300 is the first and only model in the SL3xx series. In terms of quality, it is below the T and R series and is geared towards consumers, which is particularly noticeable in the palm rest. As a result, some typical ThinkPad features are missing, such as the ThinkLight or a docking port. The optical drive is permanently installed. The BIOS also differs from the business devices.
The display lid has a piano lacquer finish. Another striking feature is the status LEDs on the front of the case - a design element that is also used on the L412 and L420. In general, the L series adopted the design of the SL series.
At 13.3", the device is very compact. I saw it for the first time around 2012 at a classmate’s vocational school and have been looking for the model ever since. Despite a fair price, the device was quite unpopular - which is probably also due to the shiny display. The SL series was not produced for long and replaced by the E series. The piano lacquer look is strongly reminiscent of the S3x series. The notebook is heavily angled on the left and right side of the housing, which makes it unnecessarily difficult to use some devices.
