The Z61m is the second and last standard model in the Z6x series and was manufactured between May 2006 and September 2007.

The series is interesting because it produced the first widescreen models. It was only produced for a short time and is therefore increasingly difficult to obtain. In terms of quality, it is on a par with the R series, but has angled edges at the front and rear. The series was discontinued after widescreen models were also introduced in the T and R series. It was designed as a multimedia series, which is also reflected in Firewire slots in addition to the new displays. In January 2022, the series celebrated a revival with the Z13 and Z16.

The Z61m is based on the T60/R60 and is only available in 15.4". As in my case, the device was also available with an optional titanium cover. This gives the device a more elegant and robust look and adds another 400 grams of weight. The cover is sensitive to fingerprints and even careful cleaning can easily damage the coating.
