The T43p is the latest performance model in the T4x series and was manufactured from February 2005 to April 2007. Compared to the T43, it features higher-performance components and, in any case, the high-resolution UXGA display and a dedicated graphics card.

On my model, the display has been replaced with a brighter third-party module – with the drawback that the brightness cannot be reduced on this one. The SATA mod that has also been carried out is very interesting. The T43’s Intel 915GM chipset supports only one PATA port, which is used for the UltraBay. Therefore, there is a SATA-PATA bridge that can be bypassed by soldering cables. Here, the hard drive’s PATA port must also be removed and replaced with a SATA port.
