The S30 is the first model in the S3x series and was only produced for the Japanese market - the S31, on the other hand, was manufactured for the rest of Asia. These are the last 10.4" notebooks manufactured by IBM - production took place between June 2001 and March 2002. In terms of hardware, the S30 is very similar to the X20.

The devices are now very rare and difficult to obtain. I have been looking for such a model in functional condition for several years.
