The T42 is the third model in the T4x series and was produced from May 2004 to October 2006. It is probably one of the best-known ThinkPad models.

For me, the T42 2008 was the entry into the ThinkPad brand - so I couldn’t miss such a device in my collection. My current model has the usual crack on the palm rest, but fortunately is not affected by flexing.
