The R40 is the first and only device in the R4x series and was produced from January 2003 to October 2004. It is the last R device with the angled corner at the top left. Compared to the R3x series it has USB 2.0, newer CPUs and the UltraNav input.

My device has a medium configuration - the CPU has the larger cache, but also a lower clock rate.
