Das T42 ist das dritte Modell der T4x-Serie und wurde von Mai 2004 bis Oktober 2006 produziert. Es zählt zu den wohl bekanntesten ThinkPad-Modellen.

Für mich war das T42 2008 der Einstieg in die Marke ThinkPad - daher durfte ein solches Gerät nicht in meiner Sammlung fehlen. Mein jetztiges Modell verfügt über den üblichen Riss an der Handballenauflage, ist glücklicherweise aber nicht von Flexing betroffen.
