Das R52 ist das dritte Modell der R5x-Serie. Es ist das letzte von IBM entwickelte R-Modell und wurde zwischen März 2005 und Februar 2007 hergestellt. Die vom R40 bekannte abgewinkelte Ecke links oben wurde entfernt.

Das Design entspricht weitestgehend dem der T4x-Serie - der Displaysteg der Clamshell ist jedoch etwas höher.

Mein Modell verfügt über die große dedizierte Grafikkarte sowie über die zweitgrößte CPU, der RAM ist fast maximal konfiguriert (2 GB sind möglich).
